Mt Carmel Ally is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of a historical Black cemetery. The organization's vision is to create a community learning space where students can explore the cemetery's rich history, learn about archaeological science, and appreciate the artistic elements of the headstones and materials used.

Historic Mount Carmel Cemetery Celebrates TN America 250 in 2026
“I am inspired by the excitement across the state to commemorate our nation’s 250 th anniversary,” said Ashley Howell, Executive Director of the Tennessee State Museum and Chair of the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semi-quincentennial. “This year will be filled with exhibitions, programs, festivals, and preservation of our local and state history.
